Have you ever considered that your empty roof space could generate an income for your business? Here at BayWa r.e., we work with businesses to lease commercial roof space of a minimum 3,000 m2 in size. We then use the roof space to develop and install solar energy systems. These PV installations are managed entirely by BayWa r.e. and produce clean renewable energy will providing a rental income for businesses.
There is no investment required, instead businesses will receive a guaranteed and continuous income for approximately 25 to 30 years.

Companies are able to choose whether to simply lease the roof, (and receive payment just for the available space used), or whether to also take advantage of the green energy being produced above them and thereby obtain additional renewable energy benefits!

Solution 1: Basic roof lease
Guaranteed remuneration up to 30 years
By signing a "right of superficies" contract, you can lease your company's empty rooftop (we are looking for businesses with a minimum of 3,000 m2 of available roof space) and get paid simply for the space provided. With this solution, the company owning the warehouse or factory contributes to the production of green energy, even if they are not directly using the energy produced by the photovoltaic plant.
As owner of the plant, BayWa r.e. will take care of all the costs relating to installation, management and upkeep.

Solution 2
Solution 2 – leasing the roof and purchasing of the energy produced
Earn from leasing your empty rooftop and take advantage of the energy produced.
As well as the revenue received for the rental space, you can also choose to benefit from the energy produced by the photovoltaic plant installed on the roof, at a greatly reduced cost.
Again, BayWa r.e. finances the investment in full, as well as acting as the energy supplier for the company, through the establishment of a PPA (Power Purchase Agreement).
In addition, with this type of solution, the overall benefit is greater than in the previous case (simple lease).
Therefore, your company can:
- be compensated for the right of rental space
- benefit from an advantageous tariff for the energy acquired through the PPA
- utilise energy from clean sources, increasing your own sustainability targets

Large enterprises and factories in all sectors, irrespective of their energy consumption, as long as they have roof space sized 5,000 m2 or larger.
- Are there costs involved in installing the photovoltaic plant?
No, all costs relating to the installation, management and upkeep of the plant are the sole responsibility of BayWa r.e. Power Solutions, who also remains the owner of the system.
- How much could I earn with my roof?
The value of earnings depends on several factors: first of all, on the type of solution chosen (simple lease or lease + purchasing the energy, as explained above), but also on the available roof size, the geographical area in question and the efficiency of the installation. We’ll be able to make more precise estimates of the possible revenue on a case by case basis.
- Who takes care of the administration aspects?
BayWa r.e. will take care of all the administrative formalities so that you do not have to bear any of the costs and can continue with your business as usual.
