local case study
ItalyWith a payback period of just four years, the new PV installation can generate up to 500 kWp and will allow to reduce almost 300 tonnes of CO2 emissions. However, this energy solution not only reduces the location’s carbon emissions, but also supplies around 40% of the logistics centre’s energy demand.
This has meant a significant reduction in corporate energy costs of around 35% per year.
Our Energy Solutions team also took Mercedes-Benz Italia through the sometimes complex grid connection process, meaning the projected was completed and up-and-running more quickly than Mercedes Italia had originally planned.
We worked closely with Mercedes-Benz Italia’s team to understand the particular requirements of the site and to make sure these were correctly reflected in the final roof-top scheme.
Our expertise was used to help Mercedes-Benz Italia to develop and fine tune their own design, helping to ensure it dovetailed perfectly with the logistics centre’s conditions and operating processes.
The use of our own novotegra South II mounting system, as it is perfectly tailored for south facing buildings with flat roofs, was also recommended by the team. Once completed, the project comprised of just under 1,400 panels. With a team of specialized service technicians, BayWa r.e. also provided inspection and maintenance services that were precisely tailored to the special conditions and production process on site.
